Cleanliness means a state of being neat and tidy. Cleanliness is important in many spheres of life, for instance in nursing homes and hospitals, where cleanliness is a measure of hygiene.
Cleanliness is an important factor in the development of the immune system and other parts of the body. We are told to wash our hands because that helps avoid germs, for example when handling food which may contain harmful bacteria or viruses that can lead to illness if they enter your body through your mouth or nose.
The importance of general cleanliness becomes increasingly apparent as we become more aware that dirt allows dust particles to accumulate which will form an ideal breeding ground for bacteria, mites and molds.
Cleaning your dishes, toilets, and other necessary spaces in your home is a necessity. It does not matter how dirty these spaces are to you, if they look bad they make you feel worse about yourself and the way others look at you. Cleaning also helps reduce allergens in the air and makes all of the inhabitants more comfortable.
If you have kids or pets it is especially important to be clean so that they don’t bring dirt into places where it is not wanted.
